How many cadets from prep school make it into the USCGA? Any known percentages? I would imagine a few choose not to reapply, but of those who reapply to USCGA (say for c/o '26), about how many would make it? Also, what is a typical class size at prep school? Thank you!

Incoming prep class is 70 this year, according to Capt. Fredie's letter to our prepster, dated 4/2/21.
And I believe the average percentage of prepsters who receive appointments to be around 80%.

Yes I think last year the number of prepsters was the same around 70. There was a pretty equal split between the 3 prep schools and I think just over 20 attended each.

I think it will be really interesting this year to see how many will decide not to go on to attend the academy. Obviously there are some that don’t make the grade and I would expect that percentage to be pretty consistent throughout the years. However those receiving appointments have the opportunity to decline as well and I suspect that percentage may be higher this year.

This year was tough on all CGAS. I know DS struggled but after the spring break visit to CGA, he was revitalized.

I hope the number is at least 70.
I'm just hoping and praying to get into CGAS from the waitlist this year. (really don't want to have to go through the application process again)
Once I get into CGAS, I have no worries about doing well enough to get an appointment for 2026.
