I asked MOC academy liasion how many vacancies for USMA next year. She said one. She said the MOC will nominate 10 and let the academy select the candidate. Is this typical?
Yup that is typical. Each MOC has 5 slots at the academy each year, so typically there is one spot open for each incoming class, sometimes two. However, ten people can be NOMINATED for each slot. The academy will select one candidate to "credit" to the MOCs count. However the other nine candidates have still been Nominated, and can be appointed due to LOAs or through the National Waiting List. Best of luck!
