USNA 2025 Waiting and....Waiting

USAFA updates their portal around 5:30am (CT) and sends an email to check the portal at the same time. Is this the same with USNA?
 
While waiting............and waiting and regardless of the outcome, I'd like to thank all the BGOs and other consistently helpful posters here on SAF. I have been especially drawn to Capt MJ and Dr. Strange Love's responses and helped by Mullen. As a parent, it's easy to go all mama-bear and as a potential cadet, aspirations can be squashed but you all respond with sage knowledge and honest opinions. Thank you.😻

DD has an LOA and 2 noms but is under review for medical waiver. Am I correct in guessing that we will not hear definitively about waivers by the 15th?
 
I feel like the only thing that's definite is that absolutely nothing is definite...

DD has an LOA and 2 noms but is under review for medical waiver. Am I correct in guessing that we will not hear definitively about waivers by the 15th?
I also had an LOA and was under review for a waiver, and mine was granted a few weeks ago, with my appointment coming yesterday! The waiver review authority comes once a week, and they make sure they put their all into each application that comes their way. I wouldn't say that definitively you won't hear, but I'd hold out hope that you hear soon! Good luck!

Hey everyone just want to remind you all (even though you probably are all counting down the days like me) but there is only one week until that April 15th date. Only so much more waiting left for us to have to deal with :bounce1:

My DS is in the LOA-under-waiver-review boat, as well. Can you tell me, when the waiver decision was made, how were you notified? Did you get an email or did you have to keep checking the DODMERB site, or the portal? I'm sorry for asking what is likely a stupid question, but I'm fairly new to SAF, only finding this recently, as my patience has become harder to maintain! My DS is handling the wait better than I am at this point.

Not a stupid question at all. My waiver decision came on a Thursday, and I had randomly been checking my DoDMERB portal and saw that the "Under Waiver Review" had changed to "Waiver Granted". I did not receive any official communication from either USNA or DoDMERB about it in the form of a call, email or document, other than the portal change. Soon after, my USNA portal was also updated to reflect that my medical had been "completed", and the missing spot was finally checked off.

Update: USNA Medical Admissions got back to me from my initial waiver inquiry, and let me know that I will be receiving official correspondence of this by mail as well, so I would also look out for that!

Last week he got a letter in his email informing him that he was still under consideration! So whatever happens, happens I guess. Having registered at plan B, however, I'm not sure he'll accept the appointment now if given one! Lol

No matter all the craziness that goes along with applying to these academies, both he and I agree he has gained a great deal from following through to the end. :)

A waiver denial is not the end! As stated by the letter in his email, he's still in consideration. I haven't personally done it, but I think there is a waiver rebuttal process you can go through! I'll defer to @MullenLE as he most likely has more info!
 
I’m glad to know others are in the waiting game too! I believe I’m academically and physically qualified, but I haven’t heard anything about my medical. I had the exam in early January and it’s not checked off in my portal but I’m medically qualified for USAFA so I’m not too worried. Is anyone else waiting for their medical status to be checked off?
Yes, I completed my medical months ago, for both the Naval and Air Force Academies. The Air Force sent me back a form to confirm my height/weight and later was determined to be within their limits, so I know that my medical has been reviewed. I was told by a officer with USNA that they will pull the medical once my application is deemed competitive (appointment offered??) and to not worry that the "box" was not checked. As long as you have your report from DoT I wouldn't be worried.

I really got into the history of President Theodore Roosevelt during and after my tour on the CVN that bears his name. Laid a wreath on his grave and toured his home in Sagamore Hill. He was a phenomenal family man, leader and President. This is by far one of my favorite quotes of his.
