USNA 2025 Waiting and....Waiting

Well our DS’s TWE came today too. Heart is broken for our DS who felt like USNA was where he was supposed to be next year! That said, I know he will lick his wounds, rebound quickly and move forward with excitement to his Plan B. Love this quote ~
“Resilience is a muscle. It gets stronger every time we have to push through disappointment. In my experience, grit and resilience are the MOST important attributes to success. Take risks and accept failure as a lesson that will make you better next time.”
Love that too! Who said it?

Yup, son got the TWE from USAFA this morning as well. "No apointment, no prep school offer." Can't start re-applying until June 1st though, for whatever reason. I'm guessing just in case there is a miracle unicorn appointment offer at the last minute for those turned down.

Still nothing new from USNA.

TWE for my DS. I think I took it harder than he did. He seemed relieved to get an answer so he can move on and now he is off to Paris Island soon. It’s been a long two years going through this but we wouldn’t change a thing. Good luck to everyone. I am so grateful for these young people making the decision to serve. Take care all.

Didn't your DD already receive an appointment from USNA and USMA and she "declined" each some time back for USAFA? If so, not sure why USNA would still be sending an email that said that after she had declined an appointment.

FWIW, your DD's appointments and "declines" were never listed in the USNA and USMA admissions threads.
She received appts to usma and USAFA and was Type 1 rotc. She had lots of application issues with USNA. She accepted USAFA appt and declined West Point. I don’t post everything on this forum. Why would I? She communicated with the people she was supposed to notify.

Who's still in???

I can't help but still check in. After all of this it seems weird that it's not happening.

My DD is handling things surprisingly well. Looking at what is offered as part of NROTC-MO, we really have no complaints. As soon as she received her TWE her immediate response was that she was going to reapply. After talking and sleeping on it, I'm not 100% sure yet that she will. I told her that whatever she wants to do she has our full support. I think knowing that the app is open now and she'd have to immediately jump back into this is somewhat exhausting and daunting considering how beat up she felt.

Anyway - that's a lot of rambling and probably more info than you care about to just say that I wish you all the best. Either while you're waiting, if you got the decision you wanted (CONGRATS!) or if you get the decision you didn't want (I'm sorry, but keep pressing on). Stay encouraged that you'll end up being where you are meant to be. Sometimes you just travel down a different path than you expected to get there.

Now I need to figure out what to do with my extra time. I guess venture over to the ROTC thread? I'll miss you guys! LOL

Good luck!

Good luck 🍀 to your son! Our DS felt the same way: “It was going to be a tough decision between Plan A & Plan A- ... USNA made that decision for me so it all worked out.” Without this crazy roller coaster we would have never figured out Plan A-.... this journey led him there.....

I thought the same thing! I tried to stay away but I couldn’t 😉. I basically said the same thing - we look like jerks if we don’t embrace this Plan A- , how in the world can we complain 😊? I feel in my heart that this is where he’s meant to be - I don’t think he’ll reapply.... Good luck 🍀 to your daughter!!

I took a chance and emailed my admissions counselor a few minutes ago. He has been a great USNA Admissions Counselor! This is what he shared with me,,, "Due to the delays with COVID-19, we are still working on putting the class of 2025 together. We anticipate all decisions will go out within the next couple of weeks." Don't freak-out everyone! Every day is another day of USNA Survival. If you need to send in a deposit to your Plan A- school, do it. It is just an insurance policy. FLY NAVY and KEEP THE FAITH!
