USNA 2025 Waiting and....Waiting

Since my admissions counselor is out of office this week, does anyone know if BGOs are able to view an applicant's decision?
Yes they can. I emailed mine yesterday and he informed me I would not be getting an appointment. He doesn’t know why no notifications are being sent out.

No matter where you end up, make the most of the opportunity that has been given to you. As someone who has been rejected twice from USNA and waited three years for an appointment, I understand the pain and frustration that comes with a TWE. If you are going to another service academy I wish you the best of luck on your path. If you are going NROTC, you have been blessed with a fantastic path that has truly developed me as a young man and midshipman. Make the most of the opportunity that has been given to you and if you want to reapply then put in the work to submit your best application. The best officer I have ever met in my short time in ROTC graduated from OCS. The source does not define who you are as a person or how good you will be as an officer.

You will find your family in ROTC and it was a hard decision to accept my appointment and leave my friends behind. The decision was made a bit easier by the fact that my class had a 90% attrition rate and I was one of the only midshipmen in my respective class. If all of my friends and classmates were still there today, it would have made my decision much harder.

Pursuing a commission is a path that I have seen many people take for granted. This is an opportunity that many people will never have a chance to follow. Whether you commission through OCS, ROTC, or USNA you have been given the unique opportunity to lead Sailors, Marines, Soldiers, or Airmen (and if it suits your boat you may lead Guardians one day as a Space Force Officer).
As an OCS weenie myself, appreciate the inclusive shout-out. In the end, it is performance, performance, performance that makes an officer stand out, regardless of commissioning source.

Such a habit to pop on here in the mornings. Disappointed but grateful to be moving on to temporary plan A until next year's reapplication. I do have to say the difference in how I was informed of TWE's between the Air Force A and the Naval A was quite different and not in Navy's favor. April 15th I received a personal email and a second personal note from their admissions team, encouraging me to reapply when a medical waiver wouldn't be an issue. Navy kept me through April 30th, never pulled my medical and just sent a generic "do not reply" email. I think all of us who were at the very end at least deserved a personal note. But regardless, I will reapply to both for Class of 2026. Catch ya' all in a year on here:)

Good morning to all of you who stood the test of time in the USNA Class of 2025 application journey. While I write this I know there are many of you that carry the anchor ⚓ I now officially have been strapped with. The pain is real! The chains are heavy, and it is going to take a lot of strength to stand up. Just like you, I gave it my best effort, but came up short. I arrived at the place I didn't want to go to, but here I am. May 1st, 2021 at 0400 I received my TWE. Instead of a Golden Envelope, I received a new assignment. It wasn't the assignment I was reaching for, but it is the assignment handed to me. I will step on a new ship, headed in a different direction. There will be storms along the way with rough seas ahead. However, the storms will pass and the the sky's will clear. I will arrive at the same place I wanted to go, but took a different route. When I step off of that boat, I will be stronger, better prepared, and ready to serve my country as a ➡️NAVAL OFFICER!⬅️ I am grateful to be surrounded by people who share the same commitment of serving our country. I look forward to meeting you out there on the deck! God Bless you, Keep the FAITH! "DON'T GIVE UP THE SHIP!" FLY NAVY! ⚓

Still no TWE yet for me, but I’ve fully committed in my mind to my plan B. I’m gonna be a Gamecock! Army ROTC is an awesome option and at this point I’m just excited to know where I’m going. This process has been remarkably stressful, and it feels it was a bit needlessly so, but there’s no point in any of us dwelling on it. I look forward to serving with all of you.

I wish you all the best. Your amazing character will carry you far.

Hi Everyone,

I have emailed my BGO and Admissions Counselor as of last night no response. Portal has no change and I have not received any emails. Is it unfair to say that I am already out of the race?
I haven’t received anything either, but through a different source I got an email that my waiver will no be reviewed. I’m a bit salty that USNA hasn’t sent an official rejection. Ya know? Fingers crossed for you though!!!

I am also doing Army ROTC, my BGO, upon me asking if he knew what my status also expressed his frustration because he too didn’t know and couldn’t help me, so he told me to put the deposit in for my chosen university and accept the Army ROTC scholarship. I can not tell you how much I appreciate my BGO because my admissions officer hasn’t even replied to any of my emails from April 15. Thank God for good BGOs who reply to your emails with unspeakable speed.

I was rooting for you and I still am. You will do a terrific job, one day, as a Naval Officer. Hope you will have fair winds on your journey and keep your positive attitude.

I know it’s not the assignment you hoped for but Miami of Ohio is an excellent school with a great NROTC unt. Good luck to you, with your attitude you will be a fine Naval Officer. Fly Navy!

DS received news of appointment yesterday from Congressman but no email or portal change. Has anyone else experienced this? He certainly doesn't want to miss the deadline to accept.
CONGRATS! 🎉
I am thinking it will update within 72 hours from the yesterdays call along with email to reply back to on his acceptance ...😊

Go Team Luke! I think you should be a writer! Hopefully you and my dear son will fly together in the future. I wish you the best! My oldest son checked out the Miami University of Ohio, it is a great school.

Fair winds and following seas! You'll do well.

DS just emailed her as well. All conditions of appointment in the LOA have been met, but no update on portal or email. They confirmed weeks ago they have everything in the system showing as complete....
