USNA Class of 2026 Appointee Ready Room

I was thinking I should mention the pool lot, so thank you for jumping in.

@THParent @OldRetSWO and me - the Joint Navy-Marine Strike Answer Force (JNMSAF) in action. Of course, land nav and blood-stripe red crayon work provided by the Marine.
Where does the lost O-1/O-2 come in? I want to show people my experience and superior judgement :p

And going with what @Capt MJ said, I also believe that is for the military housing community across the street from Gate 8. 2/C would get nastygrams about parking their cars there.

DBIDS (temporary paper or 3-year card) are not needed to gain access on I-day for drop off purposes because no-one will have those. Also the Yard is open (unles COVID locks it up) to all public with proper ID. Typically you can pick up your "temporary paper" DBIDS at Gate 1 during I-Day, if you have filled out paperwork. Not sure if you can process that day due.

You can then convert your paper dbids to a 3-year access card at a later date. Again typically you are not able to do this until well after PS and not during PPW. We did ours during an October visit. The benefit to the card is you can use the turnstiles at Gate 1 or Gate 3 to gain access (unless shut down during certain times like Commissioning week).
DW seems to remember the temp/paper DBIDS being handed out at PPW....so who knows. Also this year will be different. For instance last year the P2B reported over three days-one day for priors/naps and two days for the civvies.

FWIW, here is my post from last year I-Day experience....https://www.serviceacademyforums.com/index.php?threads/i-day-c-o-2025-reflections.82102/

Confirmed DW was right (as always)...DBIDS handed out over PPW (see schedule https://www.usna.edu/PlebeParentsWeekend/2025_PPW_SOE.pdf) also note that these are the paper copies but work just as well as the card with the exception of using the turnstiles at Gates 1 and 3
