USNA Class of 2027 Waiting and Speculating

Also praying and checking my portal every class! This week feels different; it gives me a sliver of hope that today might be the day! Hoping everyone is feeling excited, but also relaxed and optimistic. Remember, completing the application process is already a huge accomplishment, so even if we don't receive appointments, we should all be incredibly proud of ourselves :) I've been going on walks and runs to get my mind off of it, so here's a friendly reminder to find a hobby or past time that brings you joy and distracts you from the anticipation. I personally will be devoting my energy into my march madness brackets and prom-dress shopping 😂

Every day the excitement builds more and more haha. I’ve also been distracting myself with running. Doing it every day seems to help quite a bit. Also been folding origami. Sounded cool and it keeps my hands and mind busy

I should try some new crafty-sort of hobbies too! I don't really do art, but I want to maybe try painting again or baking or something like that. Anything to keep my mind at ease and contain my excitement is helpful. I just wish it was April 15th!

Baking is fun too! My favorite thing to make are those classic criss-cross apple pies. Pear almond tarts are amazing as well. Highly recommend attempting it!

In case some people are worried about the little break in the appointment roster, someone just posted their appointment! Looks like some appointments are in fact getting sent out today... fingers crossed for all candidates waiting!

My DS reached out to his naval academy admissions contact a while back about updating his info for his GPA due to the fact that his GPA increased from when he applied to now. He was told that he didn’t need to do anything and basically not to worry about it. USMA, where he has already been admitted, asked for an updated GPA. I am just wondering if this is normal for USNA. I feel that if he could show a better GPA that it would make him more competitive.

It is one small part of the overall candidate. A minor increase/decrease is not going to make or break the whole package.

My DS had a couple of accomplishments come in he wanted to add and they basically said the same thing - after Jan. 31 the file is closed.

Same thing for my son but I still think they added it; we had ASVAB scores, updated transcripts and other extracurriculars. They did add in a 3rd SAT score so I know they are touching these!!:) Good luck all!!!:)

Yep. My daughter didn't include her job and some other information. This process is nerve wracking. She will be finding out about the big UCs next week and end of the month. Hope DD finds out about USNA as well.
