USNA Class of 2027 Waiting and Speculating

You'll get portal notification, which will allow you to Accept or decline, and in the meantime, you will get the BFE which is your official appointment offer letter in the mail (or UPS) to frame and hang on the wall, or stuff in a box, whatever floats your boat. ;)
So would the “Complete - Pending Review” on Admissions Applications change into “Accepted” or ”Rejected“ or something?

Yes, something like "Offer of Appointment" or "Turned Down."

Don't quote me on what the actual portal says. It was my kid's journey, not mine.

As long as we are all trying to read tea leaves and looking for signs where none exist, does it mean ANYTHING that my DD was asked to change her USNA portal password today? That has not previously happened.

Sadly no. It just happens periodically like any other password. For security.

If next week is Spring Break, does that mean that no appointments will go out for an entire week?
Spring break on now.

Midshipmen take spring break. Federal civilians, contractors and military staff work as normal. Great week to get stuff done without regular mid business going on.

Admissions works all year long on normal business days, and they are steaming on all boilers (pre-gas turbine era lingo) this time of year to complete their mission of building the next class.

USNA op tempo drops down a bit in June right after graduation and before I-Day, as they harness up in earnest for Class of 2028. It also slows a bit over winter leave period in the actual holidays and federal holidays.

Compare it to the truly never-ending task of painting the San Francisco Bay Bridge.
As work on 2027 peaks, preliminary work on 2028 starts as the next cycle begins as the last winds down.
