USNA Class of 2027 Waiting and Speculating

Yes she has an LOA. Just checked portal and it state’s complete pending review.
Congrats!! Last year my Plebe received his appointment the day after his Nomination but I have also heard it taking several weeks.
If medically cleared and all conditions were met in the LOA, I'd expect good news soon. As stated many places on the forum, continue with bu plans B & C.

I'm joining all of you on this thread! Our son is currently waiting to find out his fate. He's been complete since November and has 5 nominations sitting in the books, so we are just playing the (not so) patient waiting game. My husband and I both attended USNA so we know the drill, but for some reason it's so much more stressful when it's your child. Good luck to everyone else still waiting! Oh, he's already been accepted to the Air Force Academy, but Navy is his #1 choice (obviously), haha.

No more waiting And speculating! Just updated the list in the appointment thread! I got the call from the Coordinator from my MOC nomination! What a weight to be lifted off my shoulders. Luckily I’ve been doing the 14 week prep plan for plebe summer and am feeling great!
congratulations!!

Congratulations!🎉🎉

Found videos on YouTube about USNA "Dining Out". Typically titled: "X Company Class of 20XX - X/C Dining Out". Obviously produced by the MIDS. A lot of inside company jokes, etc.

What are these?

At least for the appointment. Waiting and anticipating will take on different aspects from now until I-day, during your time at USNA, and later as an officer. It never really ends. Here’s a previous USNA class waiting during I-day reporting. Imagine what they are anticipating. Your time will come soon enough. In the meantime, you owe it to yourself to live a little. Sleep in when you can, eat out, enjoy long showers, and keep on with the PT. Enjoy your remaining time at home and swap some family tales at the dinner table. They might be good for some laughs the way you remember and the way your parents remember it. Congratulations again.

Dining Out is a formal dinner event to practice decorum and get a chance to wear more dressy uniforms.

My son actually got permission to go to his NROTC unit's Dining Out last semester. I posted a pic with his GF over in the "2026 rollercoaster" thread.

Is it a "custom" of each company to create these video vignettes for the event? Here is an example:

Waiting for Appointment letter. A member of the sport team our daughter is being recruited for said the interviewing congressman will call prior to receiving the email/letter. Is this true for every state's congressmen?

No. Some call before the appointment shows up on the portal, some are late after the portal was already updated, and some may never call. She should receive the appointment email in a day or two. The appointment letter will also come in the mail soon. Look for a thick yellow envelope.

We found out by portal, and knew before the MOC phone call. Iirc my son pretended not to have known when he took the call.

Mask free candidates. Imagine playing where’s Waldo with all of the plebes and training staff in masks. Pretty much for a year. Sigh.
Very glad that is in the rear view, tough year for all affected.
