USNA Class of 2027 Waiting and Speculating

My daughter got accepted in the honors college at VT majoring in physics. That was a great plan B. I wasn't going to pay VT until after 4/15 anyway.
And then...we heard the good news yesterday, she got appointed to the USNA c/o 2027.
BTW we didn't consult the magic 8 ball ever.
She waited so patiently. She had promised me I would be the 1st to know, and she kept her promise.
Just curious - what Congressional District are you in? I'm from Ohio too, and just want to see if we *still have a chance...Thanks in advance!

I'm still waiting on hearing from the academy. I know a lot of appointments have been made, but I heard they are pushing back the date from April 15th because of the DODMERB backlog. Does anyone know if that's true or not?

SnootyHen, I love it, and you're exactly right.

For everyone holding off paying a deposit, just remember, you OUGHT to pay a deposit somewhere, even if you already have an appointment. Anyone can break an arm or an ankle a day or week or month before I-day, and then you're out. (It happened to one of my friends who was supposed to be in the class before mine.) Just consider it insurance money.
A word of caution is to read the fine print clearly when putting down a deposit. Others have posted how they were hit with the entire school bill when they withdrew later. Generally there is no penalty but you'll want to double check.

You actually heard this from a credible source? If so, please do share that information - as there are a LOT of people here who would like to know!
