Per the BGO email my DS received…if you’re still pending that means you’re not out of the game. You could be waitlisted or offered NAPS.Is it safe to assume that if we’re still pending at this point that we’re kinda out of luck?

So no chance for a phone call tomorrow? Waitlist is the best shot?Per the BGO email my DS received…if you’re still pending that means you’re not out of the game. You could be waitlisted or offered NAPS.
An offer is also still possibleSo no chance for a phone call tomorrow? Waitlist is the best shot?
Did they say an anointment is out at this point?Per the BGO email my DS received…if you’re still pending that means you’re not out of the game. You could be waitlisted or offered NAPS.
No, they still give out appointments until and after the 15th. You truly have a chance at an appointment until you get turned downDid they say an anointment is out at this point?
Most likely not.Think admissions will be working tomorrow? I know it’s a Sunday, but the deadline is Monday and since they’re so behind…
Lucky you have such an active bgo. Ours is radio silent and has been since the beginning. Also in the BGO email DS was told everyone will hear something one way or another on the 15th. We’ll see…
No.Does admissions consider those who apply to only the USNA at a higher percentage more so than those who apply for multiple academies?
I doubt they even know you’re applying to another SA. Or care.Does admissions consider those who apply to only the USNA at a higher percentage more so than those who apply for multiple academies?
You are welcome. The SAs understand candidates may be unable to narrow down their service choice at the start, but will learn more as they go through the application process, visit and do research.Thank you for your quick reply. It is much appreciated!
They might see another SA when it’s time to access DoDMERB for medical exam results, but they won’t care, as you say.I doubt they even know you’re applying to another SA. Or care.
My DS had a conversation w/ USNA coach in Feb who told him majority found out on April 15 last year but no two years are the same. My DS has reminded me of the word “majority” if I ask him about his portal so I haven’t asked in quite some timeAn offer is also still possible
And also candidates that have a high probability of staying in the service past their initial commitment. The Navy was short officer last FY, the Army is currently courting Reserve officers to come to active duty in certain fields and the chronic pilot shortage across the AF, Army and Navy. You are welcome. Ultimately, the SAs want the candidate to go to the SA and the service where there is the best two-way fit. That benefits everyone.
My DS’s goal is to be a Naval pilot, but when he gets in (I am staying positive ), they may have a different goal for him. He understands that and is looking to make the Navy a career. And also candidates that have a high probability of staying in the service past their initial commitment. That’s some time spent! Thanks for the info. After the results of what was called the "first purge" on 4/9, and seeing what I thought were so many TWE's, I decided to try to get an idea of just how many people in the USNA forums were still in the running. While compiling the data the 2nd purge occurred on 4/11, and it was three times a big as the first. Now seeing the final numbers I have I'm not sure what to think for tomorrow. All I know is that there are a lot of us still "Pending".
Obviously this is not scientific in any way. It is data gathered mostly from the Waiting and Speculating post, but there were other posts as well. I'm also sure there are those that posted they were Pending at one point but then left the forum after either getting a TWE, decided on another school, or something else and didn't let the rest of know. I only went off of what I last saw posted by the SAF member. So again, these numbers are not going to be 100%, but I thought it was an interesting snapshot.
Number SAF members in the 2024 Application cycle who have commented that the status of their USNA application was at least pending: 302
The latest updates from this SAF accounts give these current numbers for applicant status:

NAPS: 5
Appointment Accepted: 101
Appointment Undecided: 18
Appointment Declined: 5

Some other data points:
Fleet Applicants: 3
Reapplicants: 19
Applicants reporting an LOA: 33
DD's: 43
DS's: 106
Self: 77
Of the 36 TWE's, 8 were from the 4/9 "purge", and 24 were from the 4/11 "purge". Others were earlier in the year.

It was actually kind of fun to go back and scan the posts from the last five months and relive some of the moments. Tomorrow seems like it will be the big day for a good number of us so good luck to everyone.
