USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

Same to you! Rooting for your DS here in Florida too...it's been a long wait for many here in the Sunshine State, I know he's ready. Here's wishing him a FQO soon!
Thank you! From your mouth to God's ears! Hoping and praying for the BEST!

That sounds awesome! Love the options. My DS is still Pending here in FL District 22. Love seeing all the options he has available for him. I have learned so much from this group. Wishing your DS the BEST!
Still pending?!

Is there anyone know the percentage of waitlisted applicants accepted to NAPS?

Thanks.
The number of spots left to be filled for each year varies.
The number of declinations varies each year.
It’s a fresh process every year driven by variable requirements. Can’t be extrapolated from previous years.
No way to tell. Another black hole of wondering!

I haven’t been on this forum for a while since I was rejected, but I got an email saying that they reviewed my application further and decided to put me on the waitlist, but I was wondering if anyone actually received their appointments to the Naval Academy? I remember when I was last active on April 15, everyone was panicking and stressing. So far I’ve only seen a few people get appointments but a whole bunch of people still pending, wait-listed and TD.

Since the 15th just a couple of appointments, a lot of TD, and then today was all NAPS, NAPS-WL, and these TD to WL reversals.

Those seem to be a new thing, so I speculate either they got more WL who declined than expected or something in the system was done in error, but I don’t know anything and just lurk the forums with a DD on the original waitlist.

My twin brother just got his offer to NAPS. He had no nomination so I am just really surprised. Although he will be coming in a year after me, I am not really sure how to feel
Just go with happy and figure it out as you go. Take your cues from him. No doubt it will feel odd to be separated, but you’ll figure it out.

A nom isn’t necessary for a NAPS offer. They liked what they saw in his application, felt he wasn’t a good fit for whatever reason for 2028, and he has a seat saved for him in 2029.

If you’re identical, way down the road, and if you’re a detailer, and he’s around during that summer, dress him up in a 2/C set of shoulder boards and a spare red detailer name tag with your surname. Direct your plebes to do a uniform race from X uniform into Y uniform, and just to make it interesting, you will do it with them to show them how fast it can be done. Door shuts. You are in X. You hear bedlam inside as the scramble begins. Your brother is in Y, of course, and knocks on the door about 8 seconds later, demonstrating his superior skills at uniform races. You are nowhere in sight. Now go for Z. He announces race to Z. You appear at the door in miraculous time wearing Z.

This will make sense to you at some point this summer.

We had a set of identical twin sisters in our sponsor mid family - one had a slightly lighter tiny mole on her temple than her sister - who were both detailers at the same time. They pulled all kinds of twin stuff. Plebes finally figured it out.

Imagine the gouge you’ll be able to share with him… or not. 😉
How amazing that you two will spend three years together there! Amazing!
