USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

Same, Embry-Riddle is his plan B. What is his plan B?
He has been accepted to Clemson and Georgia but they are both AFROTC. He has also been accepted to the Citadel, Norwich, and Holy Cross whose students are actually part of Notre Dame's NROTC. Both Holy Cross and Norwich offered significant academic scholarships which is great because they are both private institutions.

Wow! That's incredible! Which one did he choose as plan B? We are hoping to take the scholarship offer from Florida Tech to Embry-Riddle. Embry-Riddle seems like the best option for Aerospace Engineering. We have a lot to talk about tonight with regards to NAPS waitlist and the other school options.

He leaning towards Holy Cross in order to be a part of Notre Dame's ROTC but....Norwich may offer an NPP scholarship which would cover 100% and that may change some things.

Just a heads up, I called Embry-Riddle (FL) this week in regards to possibly transferring my DD NROTC scholarship there and they said they had a 20+ person WL and rarely take people off it.

Probably worth a phone call before you get too far down that path. I’d also love to know if you hear something different.

Our plan B has suddenly changed from a NESCAC school with D3 hockey participation to Mass Maritime Academy with D3 lacrosse via an out-of-the-blue recruiting call. They found out through a friend at MMA that our DD is waitlisted and said they can help her and support her with a re-app for next year. She would do Marine Engineering, the Navy SSOP program and play D3 lax. This all happened so fast we’re not sure what to think about it. Not being a Navy vet myself, I’m researching like crazy to try and get up to speed on it. Anyone have any insights into MMA and how a year there might translate into a solid re-app package? Thx.

Norwich is phenomenal with additional ROTC aid for room and board as well as traditional academic merit scholarships.

Their NROTC Unit is top notch, too. Company mate of mine from USNA retired last summer, his last assignment was PNS. One of the few NROTC Units where the PNS is a USMC Colonel billet.

I have a friend who's DD did a year at Mass Maritime as a volleyball player self-prepping for USCGA. She's currently finishing Swab Year and did extremely well at USCGA.

If you’re waitlisted for NAPS, then you’d get into NAPS, not USNA. If spots for USNA open up then they’d go to people on the USNA waitlist.
Having accepted a NAPS Waitlist offer, can a candidate still receive an appointment between now and June to USNA if spots open up

has anyone been TD then put on a waitlist?
Yes, this cycle there has been a few. They received an em email from admissions sitting. They are now on the waitlist and taking a second look at their package. scroll back in the comments of this thread and you’ll see the posts.

I have to contact Embry-Riddle tomorrow and figure out the finances now that we know he's NAPS Waitlisted. My DS was accepted into the Aerospace Engineering program there, but we must determine the cost. He received 100% Bright Futures, which I understand will cover some of the cost. He was offered a significant scholarship for Florida Tech, but Embry-Riddle is his first choice, if not NAPS. He got off the University of Miami waitlist, not 🤞🏻hoping he gets off the NAPS waitlist.

Go Navy⚓🇺🇸

hi i have a question, and i apologize for my language but I am not genuinely looking for someone to ridicule me for my choices, I work nearing full-time and commute while being a full-time college student so I was unable to chase after admissions regarding this matter.

i had somewhat finished my application (BGO Interview was updated now, Math LOR was sent (confirmed by the professor) but never updated, CFA not updated but taken). I had followed up on multiple occasions with the admissions and never heard back, I was in a multitude of midterms exams in university and I just forgot about it. I open my portal today and I am pending. I called admissions and I am waiting to hear back from them. what do you guys think about this?
Is this real? Honestly asking as from the grammer and wording I suspect not. If it is then you state (I think) you didn't complete your application. If that's true I'm not sure what you're asking...don't see how an incomplete application gets an appointment.

It can happen … events are happening which are causing the Portal application to update … pretty normal I’d say …

Now the question I have is whether the Pending status is relevant and does it get more attention in the current application cycle?

Hi all, I just got a call from my senator's office that I received an FQOA to the class of 2028! I was put on the waitlist yesterday so everyone keep up the positive attitude: hurry up and wait!

(I went straight from pending to waitlist offer, portal shows waitlist accepted still, was told it would update by Thursday)
