USNA vs West Point: Difference in Timeline and Candidate Communications

I’m the opposite. I’ve had more communication from USNA than West Point. Don’t get me wrong, West Point has been quick to respond when I’ve asked a question but ngl I’ve gotten more “warm and fuzzy” from USNA so far. I got a BGO interview before FFR, USNA was first to request medical, I got more intro emails from USNA too. Both have been pretty communicative in my opinion but I’ve also only reached out to either when I couldn’t find the answer anywhere else.

Hey everyone, just trying to get a sense of what other applicants (or their parents) are experiencing right now. My DS is currently working on his congressional nominations, and he's pretty much wrapped up everything for his USNA application except for the personal statement. But he hasn’t received any calls yet. On the other hand, with West Point, as soon as he was about 50% done with the application, he started getting DODMERB requests, a face-to-face interview, and other follow-ups. Is this normal? Does USNA usually take their time with candidate follow-ups, or is West Point just more on top of things? Just curious what other folks are seeing with their DS/DDs!
I'm not sure what you mean by "follow-ups?" Many BGO's do not interview candidates until they, at least, accomplish approximately 50% of the USNA requirements because it's a waste of everybody's time to conduct an interview for a non-serious candidate. Non-serious candidates are fairly common.

The DoDMERB medical exam counts for all service academies and ROTC applications.

What kind of "follow-up" are you expecting from the Naval Academy?
