Visit

If you are undecided, definitely schedule a visit if at all possible. A visit for us led to my DS turning down another academy and NROTC scholarship so he could attend KP. Since USMMA is lesser known than other academies, there is not as much information out there for candidates to get a good picture of the school. An overnight visit will give you a lot of answers.

I contacted admission office last week for a day visit. The academy has day visit available on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. I think the overnight visit is also available, not sure what date is.

Does it have to be a specific date? Or just one of those days of the week?
 
I think one of those days in the week, but it's better to check with admission officer, they will let you know if it's available as per academy calendar. They respond quickly, so you can plan well.

Congratulations on your appointment to the United States Merchant Marine Academy! We are now able to host overnight visits for fully vaccinated candidates. We invite you to join the Regiment of Midshipmen for an overnight orientation visit. Overnight visits are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays. As part of our visit program, candidates accompany Midshipmen escorts to class and other activities to get a true sense of what life as a Midshipman entails. There is no better way to learn about the Academy, its storied history and the myriad opportunities that are available to our graduates than to spend time with our Midshipmen. To arrange a visit, please contact the Admissions office at admissions@usmma.edu.
