Hi, I just received an appointment to USAFA, and I'm eager to go out to Colorado to visit. I live in NJ and haven't visited the academy yet. My initial question is are there any tours or visits specifically for appointees? If not, what is the best way to visit? Should I simply schedule a standard tour or are those catered towards prospective candidates? Also, if anyone has any specific advice or recommendations for visiting that would be appreciated! I plan on flying out mid to late April. I hope to fly out with my parents next month and fly out alone on I-day. Any thoughts on that would also be appreciated, thank you!

Just curious, do you mind sharing your nomination source? If MOC, what district? Thanks. A NJ Nominee Dad.

The "Disover USAFA" tours?
I would contact admissions to see if there is specific tours for admitted cadets, not your team but admissions there itself , because the discover tours are based for potential candidates. I live in Colorado and when we did the discover tour a few months ago, my son was the onky senior and the only one in Candidate status. A couple juniors, sophomores, freshman and one middle school student where there to learn about the academy. Great info presented by current cadets and to get a your interest of campus, but fully designed to peek your interest and make them wanna go there, not for admitted cadets. However if this is all you can get, sign up for both the discover tour and the windshield tour. You will see so much more doing the windshield tour that you would have missed during the discover tour.

DS contacted admissions via email to see if we could register for 1 more person for an admissions tour on 4/4 in the morning. He was told that

”the tours currently on our Admissions site are in error, and will be removed. Those tours are supposed to be open exclusively to appointees, like yourself, during the first two weeks of April.
Below are the dates for those those upcoming events:
In-person 1, 4, 8, and 11 April
Virtual 2, 6, 9, and 13 April

Please be on the lookout for further correspondence containing a link exclusively for appointees to sign-up for Appointee Events”

Thank you so much to your DS. This is exactly what I've been looking for. It is a shame its a bit close to find out.

In response to another follow up email to my DS, “we have 250 spots available for each date. I don’t believe the spots will fill up fast, but be sure to sign up as soon as you get the notification to do so.”

I sent a similar email and I believe we have to wait for invites via email… more waiting, Flights are getting expensive from NJ, so I hope the invites come out soon

They posted on IG about it but my DS hasn’t seen anything - also says no one on his summer seminar has said anything.
