We live in Miami and my DS and I are leaving this morning for our first visit to VMI. Nothing like last minute decisions! I'll keep you posted.

It was great! He made his decision and will be attending VMI in the Fall. He had a great feeling and knew it was the place for him. I now see why everyone says it's so important to visit and find the right fit. He met with admissions,ROTC, and Engineering. We ate at some great restaurants and were able to see the Parade on Saturday. Overall a great experience!

I had thought about changing to history. I Heard history is hard during ratline.

It's an interesting ride for a parent, and obviously a different experience for the Rat/Cadet. My Cadet is a 3rd and will commission into the Navy next spring. My Nephew will be a Rat and made a decision to attend base on similar reasons as yours.

Hey after some advice from others I just requested to switch English to World History.

I'm doing history for STP this summer. Does anyone know if we can receive financial aid for STP?

I have no idea if VMI gives financial aid for it (I'd call and ask), but I would imagine many scholarships from other sources could be applied just as you could for fall or spring.
