In looking at threads from about this time last year, I noticed that someone had received a letter verifying that his application/letter for a VP nomination was received. We did this a while ago and have not received anything in the mail. We did not send it "signature confirmed" so now I worry it was not received. Can anyone speak to the timeframe that this confirmation would be given. Has anyone else received notification this year? Thanks!

I looked back into my older son's file. He received confirmation of receipt of application from VP on 9/28/2007. Probably sent it out end of August.

If I recall on the letter it stated, we put you in for a nom, and any questions call the SA directly. I would give it about a month to 6 weeks in wait time. Then call the SA and ask if the received it. If not they will direct you on how to correct the situation.

Thanks for your responses. Son sent the letter to VP weeks and weeks ago, so I guess he better check on it. Thanks!

New VP

Remember folks we are dealing with a new VP's office. Cheney had several years to get a method for dealing with this. Biden's staff has to start fresh.

This might be more true for MOCs than the VP, because it states clearly, we submitted your name, any questions contact the SA and not us.

They are not reviewing the package to make a slate, they are checking to see if you have the proper forms.

In theory does everyone receive some kind of confirmation of receipt or is that only when the letter is sent "signature confirmed"?

we sent it regular mail, no receipt requested. We received a letter a month or so later, saying we got it and submitted it. You might have a longer wait right now because everybody is eligible and many of the MOC files just opened, but VP opened earlier, thus kids sent that in right away. Think about almost every candidate is eligible, and they could be requesting 2,3, 4 VP noms (one for ea SA). That's alot of files and they might just have a back log. We didn't ask for the VP until Aug/Sept since we were busy with doing the Presidential and the MOCS

Thanks, all. Letter came today from USNA saying they had been notified that he was applying for the VP Nomination. One less thing to worry about! Thanks, again.
