Waiver chances?

Objee, will it be harder to obtain a waiver this year due to the increase in applications, even if you already have a conditional appointment?

The decision whether or not to grant a medical waiver has no connection to the number of applications received. Medical waiver reviews are conducted by our Senior Medical Officer and his staff...the decision whether or not to grant a medical waiver is purely based on their medical opinion about the candidate's ability to perform as a Cadet (and later be commissionable) with the disqualifying condition(s).

I can't believe it--I can't believe it!!!!!!! We just got a call from CG admissions and wait for it...wait for it...:jump1::band: Son got a full appointment. I still can't believe it; I can barely type these words. I started screaming and crying and son said the lady on the other line was laughing at my antics. This is the best day of my entire life. Just this morning I was making out son's graduation announcements hoping and praying. I haven't even told my husband yet. Remember that champagne I mentioned in another post that we've been saving? Well, I'm going to have it on the kitchen island with glasses all around, and boy o' boy he's going to freak!!!! I just can't believe this is happening. Thank you all so much for supporting us through this.

I've been lurking here just to see how it turned out for him, and bad news would have sent me spiraling into a depression! My parents live in F'brg, so I'm going to have them watch the paper for an announcement about our "friend" going to the CGA! :biggrin:

I am so happy for your son and family. I do not know you but I have been praying for your son to get a USCGA appointment. When I read your post the excitement I felt was similar to last year when my son received his appointment. May God bless you and much success on your son's new adventure.

Oh Officer...I am so happy for you, your family, and especially your son! As with many of the other posters...I too have waiting for your happy news. I hope I get a chance to meet you in 78 days when BOTH our sons will offically become members of USCGA Class of 2014 :))) Too all the others waiting, hang in there. Prayers are being said and wonderful thoughts are being sent your way!
