We'll notify all full appointees by phone this time of year...everyone else (including conditional appointees) will only receive their notification letter in the mail. Of course, the experience could vary by Admissions Officer since they each can manage their region differently...for example, some may decide to also call all their conditional appointees to notify/congratulate them.

Objee - would that mean that anyone who had an appointment letter mailed out yesterday should have received a phone call today? What types of things would a conditional appointment be for? And are the letters mailed first class?

I am so happy for your son, and for you and your family. This may be one chapter closed, but the beginning of many more to come. Congratulations and hopefully we all will be hearing good news soon!

One of the Texas Senators usually holds a ceremony on Memorial Day at the TX State Capital and offers a special certificate of sorts to each person receiving an appointment to the academies. Then there's the event in Galveston sometime in mid-June, so there's a lot coming up quickly for your son.

Son Got The Call

My son received the call today and has received an appointment. A few hours later his future coach then gave him a call to congratulate him.

I'm overwhelmed by all your congrats and excitement for us; you guys are priceless, and I wouldn't trade a single well-wish for the world. You could knock me over with a feather (especially after that champagne--I'm such a light-weight:shake:, boys thought it smelled gross and sour; they were very happy with their sparkling cider.) My husband walked in the door and asked, "Appointment? Where?" and we said hardly able to contain ourselves, "The only one that matters." He then proceeded to give us all big hugs, pop the champagne, and call everyone we know on speaker phone.

But lets get down to business! Animal73s, BM3Miller, bozrah0307, hsjude, BEINGPATIENT, disey3, logcabin4, fairwinds, sdad and everyone (yes, you know I'm calling you out!). I seriously am going to pray HARD for you tonight. I wrote all your names on a piece of paper and am placing it on my pillow to remember everyone of you.

The Big Guy knows his perfect plan for you. My prayer for all of you is the same I prayed for my son. That you would be in the perfect plan for your life, and that if you should suffer disappointments, He would see fit to help you and show you His perfect plan.

I am grateful to chat with ya'll, and you won't be getting rid of me anytime soon. Keep the Faith. -officer

I would say no. They still have more appointments (15) going out on Monday. Also, I'm not certain, but what if they didn't get to all the calls. I'm hoping they make more calls on Monday, being that they called on a Saturday and perhaps wanted to get home for the weekend and couldn't finish all the calls. Your on my prayer list tonight animal. -officer

I would call just to tell them and say you're just checking in to see about your status. I really am pulling for for you. :thumb:
 
thanks officer!! ill just call them monday i dont think they would answer tomorrow.. ill ask about my status and ask them to call the station if anything changes
