Waiters ....this thread is for you

DS is still waiting on 6 decisions that don’t notify until March 30 or even April 5. But if the ones he is already admitted to he has ranked Michigan and GaTech engineering as his top choices. Waiting on stanford MIT and Cornell. And USNA. All great choices and will do NROTC

I know a few kids that just graduated from Stanford in all types of engineering. Unless DS specifically wants SA experience, if your DS gets into Stanford, I would take it and never look back. They all had very positive experiences. Now, I'm biased because of the kids I know, its just one data point. They said that Navy & AirForce recruit heavily at Stanford.

Actually, a lot of kids from our high school attend the schools that you listed. All are great, only one seemed to be less liked than the others. You should be proud of DS, that's a strong list.

DS has an appointment to the USAFA. Still waiting on USNA and USCGA. All are plan A. DS has always said USNA was #1 but I am not sure now. I think he is leaning towards USAFA as #1 even if he gets a USNA appointment. He’s holding off on accepting until he get all the decisions.

For plan B DS has been accepted to GT, VT, NCSU, TAMU, Norwich, and VMI along with an AFROTC Type 2.

Just curious, why do you think DS has moved from USNA toward USAFA? I noticed several applicants that have posted about initially focusing on one SA but then migrating towards a different one. I always like to hear their thought process. It helps me think of things I never thought of, if that makes sense.

I’ll send you a PM

USNA appointed
Princeton with NROTC
Pitt
Trinity Ireland
Edinburgh Scotland
Waiting on Harvard,Boston, Tulane, U Chicago and Vassar

DS has to choose between USNA appointment or Princeton AROTC.
I honestly don't know how you turn either one down.
.
Pick USNA for the undergrad …. Any kid that is doing STEM and is going Navy … USNA …. There is No better choice.
.
USNA is always ranked in the Top 5 Undergraduate Engineering programs …. You might as well call it the Top, because it is always ranked the Top or very near the Top.

Which one is less liked?

Offered USNA, Accepted
Offered USAFA, Denied

Thats about it... of course there are those schools like Rutgers that I applied to too but my want for attending an SA was much greater. Never imagined myself going anywhere else.

Good luck to those waiting!

Honestly pick what is best for you. You can read every article, ranking or blah blah blah and the bottom line is the best one is the one that is right for you. For some the 24/7 of a SA is great for others it’s not right. For some, room & board, might be a stretch for a family. Others, athletics and NROTC are a tough mix, while a SA it’s a given. It’s really what fits your goals, desires, personality. The one that feels like home in the end is the place that you will thrive and do best in.

Hard to know if you haven’t visited all the campuses what might feel like home. It’s going to be a SWAG at this point if we don’t hear soon. USNA is the place that fees like home to him. But i know one of the others might too. We have a lot of things to fit in a short window.
