Waiting Room Fun

It’s horrible and darkly funny. I think my sense of humor is slightly mangled. I watch horror movies through my fingers, and the flying monkeys in The Wizard of Oz give me the creeps still.
Well I would say at times it’s pretty accurate!

And here I thought it was just me...Im going to go put a pot of water on and watch.

How about a little musical diversion? I am inordinately fond of The Skivs, the 5O’s group in the Men’s Glee Club.

There are dozens of these videos for the USNA Glee Club, combined and Men’s/Women’s, and the Gospel Choir.

I am enjoying the relatively aimless, diversionary flavor of this thread. Always good to see favorite videos re-appear.

My son would love to be part of USNA Glee Club next year! Just hoping and WAITING for an appointment! He performed at the All-State Choir concert in Texas today! We were just talking to his choir teacher today about his plans to join USNA Glee Club or Singing Cadets at Texas A&M next year. Both awesome groups of guys. Thanks for posting.

So any truth to USNA admissions board reviews occurring on Tuesdays? Also would the portal show acceptance/denial first before a formal letter? My DS received an email saying his NROTC scholarship was not approved then 2 hours letter received a follow up that the email was sent in error and his app was being processed.

Admissions board reviews are just one element in a many-stepped process with concurrent and sequential actions occurring with many parts of the team as they make decisions and perform internal actions to build out the class. Results of an admissions board do not mean immediately afterward someone steps into the next room with a list and starts updating portals and launching BFEs.

Some people see the news on their portal, some see a BFE in the mail, some get a heads-up call.

Hang in there.

Theres an email that occurs when your application updates with an appointment. From a prior email for anyone that is wondering "

"About 40 percent of the total Offers of Appointment will have been made by mid-January. The remaining candidates selected for appointment will normally be notified by mid-April."

1) The day of Admissions Board meeting is largely irrelevant.. The Admissions Board only reviews the application and makes the qualified/not qualified decision. The actual Appointment decision comes from the office of Noms and Appointments, who evaluates all qualified applicants and determines who gets the offer from within the applicable Nomination pool. Bottom line...offers can come any day of the week...no sense sitting by the portal watching on Tuesday.

2) USNA gives the MOC a chance to notify the candidate before any change on the portal. There are a myriad of stories of how notification was made.

To add to the great points made above: The day of the week that the Admissions Board traditionally meets is Thursday.

two of our children (USNA 2016 and USMMA 2020) first heard from MOCs. One is September and the other in March. Our third child is now waiting...and waiting...and waiting.
