My DS was waitlisted for her 1st choice school (twin brother accepted) and has a 3 year AROTC scholarship. The school said it could be as late as June to find out if she will be accepted. Does she accept the scholarship to her 2nd choice school? Can she change if she gets accepted to 1st choice? Thanks!

I’d recommend having your DS reach out to the ROO at their 1st choice to see if the ROO can talk with admissions and get them accepted off the waitlist. The worst they can say is no. Accepting the scholarship to #2 is a big gamble, because if DS gets accepted to #1 later (like in June) that slot may no longer be available. Again the ROO at the #1 school would be in the best position to advise.

We have actually been in contact with him and he's trying to get her in. He said he's always been able to get his ROTC scholarship winners in. Her stats are similar to those that got accepted to the school so not sure why she got waitlisted and her twin brother got accepted. Thanks for the advice. We'll hold off on accepting the scholarship until is gets closer.

Agree with all above. just remind your DD to ensure she gets her acceptance filed before the deadline on her scholarship letter. Keep working with the ROO and hold off as long as (but not longer) than you can before that deadline. I'd ask the ROO of your desired college whether you should accept there, or college choice #2, and what happens if you accept at #1 but don't get in, or accept at #2 but then get into #1. Stressful but exciting times for your family - good luck.

The ROO said that he should find out any day now, so I am hoping it's this week. From a business standpoint, it makes sense to accept her so says the ROO. Definitely won't let that deadline pass without accepting. I would imagine the school would be sensitive to the deadline. They are very military friendly.

What school if you mind me asking?

My DS is an MS I in the Stalwart Battalion at Syracuse University and loves the program!

My DD is also an MS I at Syracuse. She loves the program, and is looking forward to getting back there later this year. Of course, right now she's chewing up my wifi, and running up my food bill (and getting used to sleeping in). :D

She got in! So thankful!

Pretty good clip but it skipped one of my favorite lines. I think it was just before he knocked and was assisting the lass from the wagon. You know the one!
