Making this similar to the "replying every day" thread, except specifically for those in waiver limbo. Much easier to get questions answered, and as a general consensus I have definitely seen people wanting this. It may be pointless (sorry if it is) but I hope it may help someone.

... so this is a good idea for C/O 2028 Candidates.
... suggestion for the title so this can continue year after year, and we can look back in 2034 of who's who:
Profiles in Courage - C/O 2028 Candidates
Profiles in Courage - C/O 2029 Candidates
Profiles in Courage - C/O 2041 Candidates
{Note: this 2041 Class might be of some use for a regular member here}.

Maybe its just late but i am very confused by this post

There would have to be a STRONG DISCLAIMER that discussion posts that will pop up, are anecdotal ONLY, and mean nothing as far as SOP for other posters. Especially for future readers who may be making assumptions based upon posts. I’m sure yall already understand this piece.

EACH waiver/DQ is considered wholly for EACH INDIVIDUAL candidate. One candidates outcome is NOT indicative of another candidates outcome. True there may be some common elements. But still that isn’t an indicator of any other candidates outcome.

Readers must understand this piece.

While I do agree it is on a case-by-case basis, some conditions are much more waiver-able than others

DS is in waiver limbo for USNA - no waiver or AIM request to date.

Waiver was granted for USMMA and appointment followed afterwards (no notice from USMMA regarding the waiver request, but AIM appeared in DoDMERB portal Jan 2, everything submitted Jan 8, then appointment came Jan 31)

I would be very encouraged to see those who get first notice of a waiver / AIM request in March - April ... hopefully they will post here!

I could be wrong, but I thought NavyGirl06 was thinking this could help us have a way to wait any maybe see some timeline info, not necessarily waiver outcome since the topic doesn't have to do with the reason for the DQ and likelihood of getting a waiver for a particular condition.

DD is stuck in waiver limbo for USMA. No AMI requested but we did submit a clear for military service letter from her doctor. DQ was for acl so I know there’s a time element but since no AMI was requested, there’s no date associated with the surgery.

I'll also add to justdoit19's disclaimer: make sure to not share medical info that isn't yours to share. If you're posting about someone else... please check first and make sure they don't have a problem with it.

No one should feel obligated to share any medical info on this website, same with location/congressional district info

I was thinking good place to share frustrations and get better help on waiver limbo specific questions!

also very good for timelines and such
See, that’s the thing. It’s just not. There are so many pieces and moving parts that even one person’s timeline isn’t indicative of another candidates timeline. Even for the same DQ.

More than any other piece of the application, medical waivers and DQ’s are so unique to each individual candidate.

You simply cannot make inferences or timelines or any other guesses as far as medical how from another candidates experience. Each candidate is unique.

I would say that nobody should be sharing their congressional district - period. Also, don't share any other information that can be used to narrow down who you are. Other members of this community have been doxed because the personally identifying information they shared was sufficient for some twit to identify them. If you want to pm a fellow member, then fine. Just don't post that data where the general population can see it.

The combination of seemingly innocuous and unrelated points of information can be used to eliminate your anonymity. If you are ok with some internet troll knowing your name, address, phone number, employer, etc., then fine. Otherwise, keep the PII to a minimum.

I guess personally I'd be curious how late waivers might be requested for non-recruited athletes without LOAs (and if such a thread existed from past years, I would certainly be curious to read it). I understand that it might not actually mean anything in terms of "chances", but it might help some with the waiting game to see that waiver requests for these types of candidates are initiated as late as March - April. Honestly, I am confused why this "waiver limbo" thread is creating so much stress - I thought it was a great idea! I do not feel like it is going to violate my DS's privacy, nor do I feel like I will be misled into false hopes (anymore that I would from reading any other thread on this forum) - but maybe that's just me! :)

I agree, information is your right to give out if you so choose. We are not asking for info but if you think it can help someone and want to share, then here is the place you can.

I'm talking literally any activity from admissions, not trying to guess when others will be waived based on someone else. Just to see when admissions is moving to know there's movement

for me it was just confusing to try and get answers for specific waiver questions in general threads like the everyday thread. this was just a place where i felt we could all share frustrations and get our general questions answered if they can be, sorry to cause stress!
