Waiver limbo hangout

for me it was just confusing to try and get answers for specific waiver questions in general threads like the everyday thread. this was just a place where i felt we could all share frustrations and get our general questions answered if they can be, sorry to cause stress!
I think it's a great idea!

As someone who is also a USNA '28 candidate (although not dealing with DoDMERB), It is nice to know that you're not the only one going through something concerning the admissions process (ie, waiver process). For those well meaning individuals who keep saying that when someone is granted a waiver doesn't mean anything to other candidates (you are right) but that isn't the main reason that people like @NavyGirl06 want to make these conversation threads for. I do agree with not sharing personal information, but as someone who is also waiting its nice to have somewhere to go where there are other people in your same shoes as well. Helps the waiting go by a little bit faster as well as having a place for questions to be answered.

yeah no, by no means do I want anyone's personal info! I've just felt like I am the only person in limbo and its really nice to see I'm not. very sorry if I have caused any issue!

Oh no definitely not!! Quite the contrary! I think it’s great that you’re doing this, you didn’t do anything wrong, I just don’t understand why everyone else is saying it’s a bad idea because waivers differ from person to person

With the precautions noted….. but in appreciation of @NavyGirl06 ‘s mission:

Hello! I also look for news of waivers being issued and their timelines with curiosity. DS has applications in at USMA, USAFA and USNA. DS did SLE and jumped on the candidate kit so DODMERB was done in late July so our (inevitable) single disqualification posted in mid August. Files complete and nominations received at each academy.

USMA- waiver pending since early September. No AMI request. No correspondence. Finally reached out last week and was told to be patient. Assuming no news is good news at this point.

USAFA- requested AMI which was completed in mid February. Once it hit DODMERB it was only a few days until waiver was granted. No news from admission, but nice that hopefully the next correspondence will likely be a decision! We received email notifications from them along the way, along with each portal update.

USNA- magically last week the portal went from a red “disqualified” to a red “waiver pending”. Never received an email notification nor request for AMI (yet).

For those that are curious: no LOE/LOA or recruitment or the like to anywhere. I would just say DS is a strong candidate who can comfortably check all the whole candidate boxes.

It’s been a feeling of limbo for sure!

Thanks for sharing your DS started process in July and just saw change to USNA portal. My DS is in the same boat, Received single disqualification in August and been waiting patiently ever since. USCGA just requested DoDMERB status and same disqualification beginning of February.

Appreciative of this group just to hear others still waiting. Brings some sort of peace of mind that we aren’t alone! And it isn’t over yet!

Good morning and happy March! Looking forward to Spring weather and full email boxes for all of us!

No movement this past week for DS’s pending waivers (USMA and USNA requested by admissions but not yet granted by waiver authority).

another day, another day in waiver limbo. no waiver requested yet :(
Same here .. Still a big red DQ in the portal. But at least application is still pending so trying to remain hopeful! Would love to see some new waiver request notifications on this board! I silently promise every day to have exemplary patience with the actual waiver process itself if DS is lucky enough to actually get a waiver request, ha! :)
