Waiver Possibility (For PQ)

So my son is a cadet and is really worried about being disqualified for pilot as a result of spinal stress fracture in high school. Anyone have any experience with pars fractures and getting a pilot slot?

Hi and welcome! I'm not a medical expert myself, but if he is a current cadet, it would be super easy for him to check with the staff in the cadet clinic who handle grad physicals and/or flight med. I'm sure they would be able to tell him or at least point him in the right direction if a waiver/ETP is needed--besides, when the time comes, they are the same people who will be examining him to determine his medical status at graduation.

Did he have a problem getting into the academy with his history of PARS fracture? My DS is going through application process and that is his concern right now.
