Could you instruct me if my son should contact the naval academy or the Dodmerb site in regards to his eye waiver needed. He wears glasses, defintely in the allowable range (not a big deal). We haven't heard as of yet if he has an appointment, deadline supposively April 15th. Whenever we go to the Dodmerb site however, it still reflects "waiverable". At this point so late in the game, I don't know if this is truly a bad sign, or just slow to be changed for whatever reason.

The "waiverable" condition is an administrative issue for the Naval Academy, and only the Naval Academy. If/when your son is offered an appointment then the administrative waiver has been approved. There is nothing that DoDMERB can do about the "waiverable" condition unless your son can see better than 20/40 without his glasses or contacts.
