Does anyone know how many nominations was given out on the 15th to West Point?
 
No one here will know. And with all due respect, it doesn’t matter. I believe you’ve been offered this advice before: Refrain from obsessing about this and go enjoy your family and friends. You only do senior year once.

I know just wondering if they was really released or everyone just jumped the gun a bit
 
In our case, DS was “notified of appointment” by our two senators and confirmed with a follow-up by his regional commander on Wednesday. He has not yet seen an update in his portal or a BFE. Does that answer your question? Very possible that not all candidates with appointments will be given notice in advance.
 
Principal at DS’s school called me on the 16th to advise me to be at the school 1100/17 and not to discuss w DS. At 1100/17 myself and my ex wife were privileged to watch DS take a phone call from our District Rep advising him of his Offer of Appointment. We are a very small rural community. Realistically made up of about 10 different communities.......... it’s been a whirlwind ever since. Patience Saralee....patience.

I'm tearing up just reading about this! What a wonderful way to have your son find out! My son was at school when he got the good news email about USNA and all I wanted to do was hug him and yell from the rooftops how proud I was of him. Luckily it was the end of the school day and I didn't have long to wait, but my point is, I would have loved to see his face when he got the good news. Congrats!

Heck! I would start crying! I was at my DD's high school dropping something off to her. They called her to the office to pick it up. She came in and said "Daddy, I got a text from my RC. She wants me to call her." I said call her now then and we went out into the empty hallway. The RC told her she was good to go pending DoDMed which we knew shouldn't be a problem. When we returned to the office, the ladies could tell I had been crying. We had to let the cat out of the bag. Lol.

Lol, my son was at school, didn't answer his phone because he didn't recognize the phone number. Then, he received a message from the school office to call our local representative's office. Do you think he called right away? No, he went to lunch and then called. He told me and my husband in person at 10:00 p.m. But, I'm pretty sure 100 kids knew before us.
 
@Saralee Sweet girl...hang in there. I know you cannot wait. It is a horrible period of time.
Those of us who hang out on the Forums suspect that postings on the forum represent about 10% of appointments. So, if 15 people chime in...that might be 150 appointments that were proffered...but we simply don't know.
If and when USMA Admissions eels like giving us a peak into the process (like a big wave) --they will post it on the Facebook page; however, this week they seem to be focusing on opening the portal for SLE.
The good news is--that you can expect that EVERY WEEK, after the admissions board meets, there will be new posts to the Appointments Thread. You must steel your heart for it not to be your turn...until it finally is your turn.
I wish you the best of luck. Actually what are your other wonderful plans? Is your Army ROTC packet completed? To what other colleges are you applying?
