West Point SLE 2021

blueandgold123, my DS did not get into SLE a year ago, however, he was ultimately offered an appointment to WP and is now a member of the Class of 2024. I suspect his SAT score was not high enough to be considered for SLE (1350). His younger brother on the other hand (applying to the Class of 2026) did get into WP SLE. He also got into Navy and Air Force’s SLE programs. I put this down to his SAT score. This is what SAs look at most when considering who gets in to SLE. Tell your DS to keep working hard and not give up. SLE is just one small factor...

Well, DS has not received an invite. Very disappointing. He does have a good SAT score from college board on his application. Great GPA--all the other stuff--boys state, varsity letters in football and soccer, captain of soccer. FF just reached out to him Monday and wants to do an early interview. Still praying an invite comes in for him. I know others say they have been offered an appointment even if not invited to SLE. Still, very disappointing but holding out hope. He has not received a decline letter yet so there is still hope.
Last year they sent out invites every week starting in early February for about 2 months. They don't have that luxury this year so their rolling invites might be daily now. There still has to be an element of offer, review, and see how many decline, so maybe it's a blessing this year that everything has to happen faster. My son got in last year on week 2, so that could be today for your son!

I have not gotten anything yet either. Hopefully we hear soon!

I got my acceptance letter this morning, but I still haven't gotten an email with my login info yet. Anyone else have the same problem?
Same boat, the email that was said to contain login info never hit my inbox. I checked spam as well; I've sent in an email though, so hopefully I receive the email soon.

For those of you who did receive an invite--does it say how long you have to accept or decline? For example, Navy said you have 10 days to respond--does USMA have anything like this? Thank you.

Your son that did not get into SLE but did get the appointment-did he bring his SAT up? If so to what score? My DS SAT is 1280, Verbal =660 Math =620. He retook it in March and is waiting on his scores.

Recently received my acceptance into SLE. It had the line "Your selection to SLE does more than invite you to attend the seminar. It also confirms you as one of our very top candidates for admission.". I'm a little confused by this, as the academies consistently stress that SLE has no bearing on admissions. Did anyone get this message too, or have any insight?
It is very important to note that in many cases SLE is more competitive than applying with a nomination for an appointment. Don´t know about the rate of competitiveness this year due to being virtual but in the past it has been about a 5% acceptance rate- the academy itself is 8%.

My email says I have to pay by April 18th to keep my spot, otherwise they will assume I won't/can't attend.

Alright, thanks! I also emailed them (the email that was listed in the acceptance letter) so hopefully I'll get a reply soon.

My DS stated that the emailed instructed him to register by 18 April, so a quick turnaround time. Hope this helps.

To solve the SLE community login issue do not log in to the SLE community through the candidate portal but instead go to the email they sent you that has your login information (which is your email address). this info could most likely be found in your spam folder if not email your Felid force rep. when you go to this email with your login information there should be a hyperlink within the email that takes you to the correct site if you can't find this hyperlink check this same email on a desktop or laptop, if you still can't find the hyperlink then instead of using Gmail use the built-in Mail app on your phones this method I'm sure will take you to the correct site the hyperlink is blue underlined which says "go to the SLE Application site". once the hyperlink takes you to the correct site it may ask you to type your username. Your username is basically your email address Westpoint has on file. They may also ask for you to "change your password" you can just simply reenter the password you have for candidate portal and you should be able to get in. Let me know if this info was helpful

I received an offer yesterday and another email in my spam today. I am confused on what is the next I need to do now. My email and password are not working for the link to the SLE community.

If you haven't moved the email with your username and password into your inbox - please do. Then click on the link in the email with the un/pw and you will be directed to the SLE website.

The first pop-up requires that you change your password (which really means you are creating one for this portal). You will then be asked to select 17 workshops by priority. Once that is done, you will be offered a Session selection. Good luck!

I only got an email with just a password. Which link am I supposed to follow? The one that is called “SLE Community”?
