What is mean NWL

My DD just received 3Q letter from west point said he is in the NWL.
would let me know that he is not appointed but waiting status for any appointee reject his/her appointment?
 
Oh, to be able to spend one’s time dabbling in cliches and stereotypes, yet still fall woefully short of the mark. Sigh...

My DS just went through this too. He received his 3Q with the ominous PDF in his portal that he was on the NWL. We didn't know whether to be happy or disappointed! From how I came to understand it every qualified candidate is put on the NWL after they are qualified. Being qualified is one step and then being appointed is another. My son got the 3Q notification with the NWL letter on a Friday and then the following Thursday he got his offer of appointment.

It means your DS is still in the running and it can go either way. Mine was put on it in November and was rejected last week. Good luck to your DS!

I'm so sorry - my son went through this last year. Getting that letter was such a huge disappointment but if your son still wants to pursue WP he can. The fact that he got on the NWL means he was close and would have a very good chance for next year. My son was accepted this year.

Yay! Congratulations to your son! We'll see about next year and if he wants it bad enough. I don't know if I can go through this again. lol
