I was just invited to attend my local CAP meeting by their commander. Anyone remember their 1st CAP meeting and what they were wearing? I was wondering if a shirt and tie is too much?

I'd suggest an ironed shirt, open collar (carry a tie just in case), a pair of pressed slacks, and polished shoes. Have a good time and listen up.

Glad to hear you're interested in joining! I'm a Cadet Lieutenant Colonel and I owe most of what I've learned about leadership so far to CAP.

Since I don't know this squadron, there's certainly no harm in dressing nicely. Anywhere from a polo shirt and jeans to shirt and tie would definitely make a good impression if I was meeting you as a prospective cadet.

Be comfortable in the clothes you're wearing, ask questions, and have fun! I'm always available to answer your CAP questions as well.

I'm currently a C/CMSgt and have been in for 2 years. Just wear whatever you want, it doesn't really matter. I just showed up with whatever I put on for school that day. They're just regular teenagers like you, a shirt and tie may seem a little too much. Just my two cents.
