When will Band Co. get air conditioning???

Ok.....Lets get focused...these were the questions....nothing about Band Co or my DS not being able to handle the heat:confused:

OMG....if I was in a meeting with y'all and you came up with all these different reasons/answers to the questions, I'd be going crazy.....are you kidding me!!! Keep on target:thumb:

• Operations and Training: The President requests $162 million, an increase of $12 million above FY 2010.
The request includes $93 million for the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), an increase of $19
million over FY 2010.
o $29 million ($12 million above FY 2010) is requested for the consolidated USMMA Capital Asset
Management program, including: $23 million for capital improvements ($11.5 million to start
renovation of the Cleveland Hall midshipman barracks; $9 million to complete the renovation of the
Delano Mess Hall planned to begin in FY 2011; and $2.5 million to begin architectural and
engineering studies for renovation of the remaining barracks and academic buildings); $2 million for
major capital repairs and equipment replacement; and $4 million for facilities maintenance.
DOT Budget Highlights - 37
o $7 million in new funding is requested to meet other Academy operational priorities, including
midshipman program requirements, instructional priorities and critical information technology
infrastructure improvements.

If the budget is passed for 2012, it looks like Cleveland Hall (Band Co.) will start to get renovations in 2012.

Suzie - unfortunately the going off target thing is a fairly regular occurrence on this (and many other!) internet discussion boards! Sometimes it's productive, sometimes not, but don't take it personally and don't let it get to you!

How strange

This thread made me chuckle. I don't remember lack of AC. Ok, I take that back I remember being HOT in indoc but that was expected. I do remember how awful the heating was because my skin always dried out. However we were always nice and toasty warm!

As far as heat goes my biggest memory of it would be from Sea Year. That first time you open up the door to the Engine Room. It hits you in waves and you feel like you've found a gate to hell. You walk in and just wonder how your going to not pass out!

I don't think you can compare KP to any of the other schools. Each is unique and have their own funding perks. For myself I liked the smaller class size and knowing all of my classmates.

Wishful thinking

KP has ALWAYS had the short end of the stick and will NEVER EVER be on a par with USNA, USMA or USAFA. When it comes to facilities they get two foot thick Vermont granite and KP gets half inch sheetrock. Admirals and Generals take care of their own. Who does KP have? Nobody.........

What's a DS? What's a DD?
