son called today and was told he was waitlisted and that the letter was sent out yesterday.
Called admissions because he was "penciled" in for overnight. No mail, but called admissions and found out he was "wait listed". Supposed to receive a letter in a few days. Any idea how long the "wait list" is??? Congratulations to those who have received an appointment!
If they do it like last year, there will be 2 "waiting lists."
Group "A" will be about 30 candidates. They will take from this group first, and mainly after May 1st.
Group "B" will be about 120 candidates. If they need more than 30 to fill the class they will take from Group B.
I believe about 20% of the 150 waiting list candidates received appointments last year but that is just from my memory, I could be wrong about that, I have no official data to confirm that.
We (Service Academy Forums) had a waiting list candidate here last year who was given an appointment (rjcuga?) and one who were not given an appointment (shellz) so maybe they can remember the numbers better than I can.
Will admissions tell you where on the A or B "list" you are?
I got an email from LTJG Parker today saying that they are mailing the last appointment notifications by the end of the week and they are sorry that it took longer than they planned. He also said everything should be recieved by early next week. Good luck everyone still waiting.

I just got an email from LTJG Hague telling me that I got waitlisted, too
So we can call after the 1st of May to see which list we're on?
So there are still appointments going out!!! Good luck everyone. I know how hard the waiting game is, but it's almost over. Fingers crossed for every one of you guys...I'd pick all the SAF kids for sure, as this is the nicest bunch of kids and parents I've encountered over the last 18 months!
