I haven't sent in the oh so official post card yet. (still waiting on USNA to make final decision) but i will likely be there. I am from Laramie, WY and i plan on studying mechanical engineering.
You'll be sent a large packet of paperwork, known as the "admissible mailings" that must be completed and returned, including another medical check, dental examination, copy of birth certificate, police background check, etc.
Of course my son only received a cover letter and the envelopes to mail the "admissible mailings" back in his large packet that was mailed to him. He had to download and print all the forms from online off of his portal.
DiLa: same with my son -- no big packet, just envelopes....hopefully he will finish getting it all done soon....he is getting a second TB test as he forgot to have the first one read in time....grrrr....(he gets to pay for this one). I was a bit concerned that there was something we were missing so I'm glad to see he wasn't the only one who only received envelopes....
West Point just posted the info on low-quarters friday. Does anyone know if they need to bring an extra pair or just have one pair (I understand they will wear them in on R-day)?
They just need to wear one pair of low quarters in to R-Day. They need to walk in with them.
Don't bother getting two pair. The second pair will be issued.
If you are going to an Army post, I suggest calling first and speaking to the Manager before driving a long way.
Anybody else what? JAM answered the question -- the only thing I would add is that it is a great idea to get the shoes well broken in. Your feet will appreciate it on R day and the weeks following.
