our experience
Initially my son was interested in Merchant Marine Academy (as well as AFA, NA and WP), but after really looking at their academic programs, he decided that he was no longer interested in the Merchant Marine Academy. He stopped sending them information and informed his MOC that he was no longer interested in it. So, of course, he did not get a nomination. He got a letter just after January 1st from the academy saying he was no longer qualified due to no nomination. It was a TWE, with a "thanks, but no thanks" letter. We were not surprised by this, and actually found it to be helpful in seeing what a rejection would look like (knowing all can be different, but it was a general idea).
So, here we sit on March 16th triple qualified and with nominations looming at the other three academies...and no TWE, no update on the portals, and no BFE.
This process is such a trial of patience. I know that whatever is going to happen has already been decided...we will know eventually. As for the OP and not receiving a nomination, I am surprised that they have not informed you that you are no longer qualified due to no nomination. I know all the academies are different, but they are also a bit similar. Best of luck to you!!
