Good evening,

I am currently in the application process of USAFA; my back-up school is VMI. I have wanted to be a pilot (in any capacity) since I was 2, a USAF Pilot since I was 10, and I caught "Academy Fever" when I was 14. My dream is to become a Close Air Support pilot in the USAF. However, my primary mission is to become the best officer I can be. That's why I want to subject myself to the rigors of either USAFA or VMI: to become not just a pilot but a sky-soldier, a warrior, and a modern day knight, an officer in the USAF.

I am on this forum because some friends recommended it to me and it is a tool for gaining insight/wisdom from experienced persons (which, in my opinion, is a hallmark of successful people).

Fun facts:
Favorite book: Sir Knight of the Splendid Way - W.E. Cule
Favorite poem: "Ulysses" - Tennyson
Biggest lesson learned so far: "...three strikes and you're NOT out" (Hal Moore).
Ideal job: either A-10s out of Osan AB (if they're still flying by the time I get there) or F-16s out of Misawa AB.

Have an outstanding day!

Welcome, young person. Spend some time perusing the threads and using the search function, because there’s little that hasn’t been discussed already.

Remember that USAF, above all else, needs you to be a leader of America’s finest men and women in defense of our great nation. Everything else — your pilot calling included — comes second to that.

Welcome! This forum is an outstanding source of information that has been amazing. Best of luck!

Hooah. Thank you!

Feel free to reach out to me with any and all questions you might have; I'd be happy to help.
