Will it reflect negatively, upon my application if I don't do the Physical assesment in the 30 days given?

I'm 17 and a Senior, and after doing the CCFA, I know I'll pass the Pushups and situps with ease. Unfortunately, I am VERY BAD at running and I don't know if I can pass the running portion. Would it reflect negatively if I asked for another link, so I can prepare more?

Start running. That is the only thing that improves your run time. It's obviously a concern- start running. Good luck to you and thank you for your willingness to serve.

I ran a mile today and finished it in 9:46
I appreciate you being honest there. My experience is with the Navy vice Army but I could tell you there has to be some significant improvement in your cardio to be competitive. If you have a friend who can run with you that might help. But I believe 8 minute miles are likely the minimum for you to be a contender. Perhaps one of the Army folks on here can support that or correct me.

Yeah I completely understand, would you recommend postponing my Physical assessment or would that look bad?

Because I have no experience with the Army, I am hesitant to give advice on that. But if you fail the run, obviously that won't look good. You may want to check with an Army recruiter. I jist don't want to make up an answer and give you false hope.

Thank you I'm gonna run every day for a month and hope for the best honestly but I think I should pass as long as I keep to my program

Since I already submitted my SAT and ACT and they got approved the clock is ticking, should I ask for another link at the end of my 30 days even though in quite sure I'll be ready by then. Just to make sure?

Since your goal is a good time on the mile, rather than just running every day you might want to look online for programs focusing on speed. Interval training is a great way to decrease your time. So if you can run a mile now your goal is to increase your pace. Running with someone faster will help and interval training. I think you'll be surprised how quickly you can improve if you dedicate the time to it. You might be able pull it off in 30 days.

There are many training programs online as @Cmac154 pointed out. I've never seen a training program that included running (or other exercise training) every day. Most include at least 1 rest day, and different levels of exertion on various days in between. Your muscles need rest and recovery in order to get stronger. Find an online training program. Stew Smith has free workouts online focused on military and police.

Also check with your schools track (and/or cross country) coaches. Perhaps they would help you.
