Anyone else think the connection between the purple words was just plain weird this time (#219)?

I don't understand the purple connection -- not even sure what it means. Maybe tomorrow (or with a spoiler tag), someone could enlighten me.

Going back to middle school.... i remember 1134 as the magical answer to word problems on the calculator. type in that number and then turn the calculator upside down. Several numbers look like letters then.

Thought the purple words were connected for a different reason double letters

I don’t think we had calculators in middle school. I certainly have never heard of turning them upside down. But thanks for the obviously accurate explanation. 😀
 
I would NEVER have guessed the purple. Not in a million years. Even after I knew the answer, I knew I wouldn't have ever guessed it -- had to look it up. I also disagreed with two of the topics -- thought my fourth item was just as valid as theirs and could have made both lists work with my choices.

I'm okay if I flame out and then have a "V-8" moment (apologies for the younger folks who won't get this). But when, at the end, I shake my head, I'm kind of annoyed. That was today.

Or maybe it's just sour grapes.:confused:
