I am currently 21, will turn 23 in 2025. I completed one year of college out of highschool, and left to enlist in the Air Force. My application with the Air Force was closed in July of this year, and I started working with an army national guard recruiter in August. My college GPA is 2.23, my High school GPA is 3.7, and my ACT is super score of 23. If I began the application process next year, would I be too old once the process finished, provided I was nominated and got my ACT score up? I did all 4 years of high school in JROTC and held a leadership position as a cadet officer for 3 years.

Hello and Welcome Aboard!

What is the max age for admission to USMA? I don't know. Just asking?

OK,@GK21, time to start exhibiting the initiative and resourcefulness expected of a commissioned officer. Go to the USMA website and find this information yourself. It’s all there, in plain sight: very clear details about the maximum age for appointment. It should take you less than three clicks to get there.

From the USMA website:

"Applicants must meet the following basic eligibility requirements: At least age 17, but not 23 or older, on July 1 of the year you enter West Point."

Depends when you will be 23. December birthday would be fine, February not so much. IF you are eligible, the more major issue is your college GPA, which will raise some major questions on your ability to handle the USMA curriculum.

If you get your super score up as a prior you have a chance. The age cut off is no older than 23, so you should be fine there.
When will you turn 23? If you will still be 22 on 1 July you can also be considered for the prep school.
Enlisted slots to SAs rarely get filled so if you can meet the 3Q you have a very good chance.

Hey yall, thanks for the replies. My birthday is in August and I will be 23 in August of 2025. I have looked into the MMI SAP, and may apply to that for the August if 2024. If the waiver I need for enlistment does not come before then.

Looks like you make the cutoff by just about a month.

Your HS GPA was 3.7 and your college GPA was 2.23
Your ACT score was 23.

What happened in college? What types of courses did you take? How were you prepared in HS?
For USMA the avg admitted score was 29.

MMI is a very solid plan. I can't recommend it enough for anyone that wants a super competitive shot at Service Academy Appointment. It's not a guarantee, nor an easy short cut. But if you are willing to truly work your ass off, then they're quite experienced at helping you through the process.
MMI did everything they promised for my Son, and more. On his third year of SA applications while at Marion, he received appointments to all three Academies he applied to.
Prepare yourself properly. Consider expert tutoring for improving your test scores. But work to improve them prior to getting there.
