People do fail SFT.

I would think that they have told all of you that you can bust SFT.
I agree from a fiscal sense it doesn't make sense. However, maybe they have decided to send everyone, hoping that they can rectify this fiscal issue by the end of the summer/early fall without cutting. If not they have an option on the table for when they return to school in the fall.
They will rank out the cadets at SFT and this will account for your OML when it comes down to your AFSC. They could than draw a line at a point level, and there you go, another cut round.
There is no guarantee on anything until you raise your hand and take that oath at commissioning. Gojira can tell you that! For those who don't know who Gojira is, her DS (NROTC) 18 months ago, 6 weeks before commissioning for being 8lbs over weight. He had to pay back 143K (scholarship).
It happens, even for 8 lbs 6 weeks before commissioning. It makes no sense to us peons, but it has to make some sense to them....or not
As for why some cadres are saying this, it maybe the dets choice. It maybe one det feels that everything is still influx and until it is positive, they are going to keep their mouths shut; while the other det feels that because this may occur, it is best to let the cadets know the possibilities so they understand there are risks still.
Basically, half full or half empty glass.
I know one very large det was told before the board results came out, that the cadre expected this SFT was going to be different regardless of the results, but did not say anything more than that. To my knowledge they still have never disclosed what they meant by there will be changes. It could be exactly what Winner was saying his det told them.
JMPHO, but you are all going to have to go with the flow for now. Just keep studying and working out. Whether they make only 1700 or all 2200 POCs the same thing is going to matter...your SFT score! It is part of your AFSC OML.
The dust will settle soon enough. Until that time Hope for the Best, Expect the Worst.
