Good afternoon everyone,
While we are still waiting, I have a question that I hope doesn't sound altogether ignorant/dumb etc:
I was wondering why cadet candidates at the prep school find out about appointments later than direct applicants (early May as opposed to February/March/April)? Does the Academy reserve a certain number of appointments for this category?
I am aware that prep schoolers receive nominations via the typical sources (Congressional/Presidential/Vice-Presidential), but would their appointment fill that slate? (i.e. Congressional slate of ten: 2 prep school, 1 falcon foundation, 7 high school)
This may seem like a dumb question, but it is one that I have yet to be able to find an accurate answer to.
Regards,
CAPChief
It's a new week. How is everyone?
I'm starting to become uneasy. March has come and gone with no indication of appointment. Should I be worried?
I just called the admissions office, and my counselor told me that yesterday they were informed that we should all hear something by the end of this week. Good luck, everyone.
Notified as in by your nomination/appointment source? Because from every Prior Service I have met that has acquired a direct appointment, they were notified through the Portal, which seeing the deadlines flying around for April 15th and such makes me have quite a few questions.I just called the admissions office, and my counselor told me that yesterday they were informed that we should all hear something by the end of this week. I'm not sure if they do appointments by area, but just in case!

Knowing when doesn't change the outcome, so I guess it doesn't matter all that much. It just helps me be less stressed in waiting if I have a timeframe to which I can look forward.
