Take a Deep Breath...
Having been through this I can only offer the following... please try not to set timetables for yourself. Yes, EA appointments come out right before Christmas. However, some come early. Some appointments are deferred until regular admissions. Then, I will refer you to some of the other folks who did not receive anything until late May, but appointments were still showing up in between. I know it is not what you all want to hear, but it is intended for you to keep heart. There are bulk mailings, but not all appointments are sent out at the same time. Try not to read into anything.
We initially received a deferment letter around Christmas, but he then got his appointment right before the RA deadline in February. The term 'emotional rollercoaster' is metaphoric, but perhaps inadequate to describe the significant ups and downs as we all waited patiently to see what the future had in store for our son. Yes, we stalked our mailman. I cannot say we did not. The nice thing is that we got to know him and now he often asks how our son is doing. He became part of the process. A little advise... you may want to let him in on why you are standing by the mailbox every day (rain or shine), leaving him cookies and other bribes, etc. That way, the mail(person) knows what you are looking for, and he is less likely to report you to FBI. HAH!
The Admissions office does a fantastic job of sifting through the plethora of qualified candidates. In my opinion they are clearly more focused on getting it right than hitting a specific timetable. My advise here is to focus on the positive. Unless you receive a clear 'thanks, but no thanks' you are still in the game.
Best wishes to all.
Sincerely,

P.S. Officer, you chopped off all your hair!!! Looks great. My wife told me she thought she saw you in front of Leamy as we were cruising through the Academy on Parent's Weekend but the haircut threw her. Now I have to let her know she might not be crazy after all! LOL
