First Board Results

If you accept the scholarship- does it mean that you are obligated to enroll at the select university/college, provided you are accepted to the university?

No you are not obligated to enroll at that college or university selected, however, if you want to use the scholarship somewhere else you will need to request a transfer (which go through normally, but is not for sure).

As I understand it you can fill out a transfer form and pending the Army's approval, may then enroll at a different university. It is not understood to be 100% transferable as part of the decision process was based on the schools listed in the application.

Thanks to all the previous responses!

To clarify my question,
If I accept the scholarship, does it mean that I cannot attend West Point if I am accepted there after already accepting the army ROTC scholarship?

No, you can accept the scholarship and then accept an appointment to West Point if you are accepted. You would just decline the scholarship at some point after you receive your appointment. This happens all the time.

You can accept the scholarship, then if accepted to USMA withdraw the scholarship and attend the Academy.

Yes...and many have done just that.

For those wondering about 2nd brigade, I got awarded a 2.5y in the reserve (what I wanted). I was the only cadet awarded a scholarship in the brigade for my battalion (not talking about incoming HS kids).

I got notified really fast.

Hard work finally pays off.

received email back from clarkson army friday..."cant tell you if you have an offer...contact ROO at school of choice on status..."
reached out ot ROO at top choice school and ROO replied "At this time, I am not able to provide you any information on the board results. If you are a recipient, you will be properly notified."...hoping they are just following new notification protocol...keeping fingers crossed...
From our experience last week, you have received a scholarship! Congratulations!
thanks...hoping that is the case...jut reading other posts sems like many have been contacted in some way...we are still waiting...congrats to you as well...
DS notified today via phone local battalion from LI, NY [not school of choice] coming to house Wednesday to "let him know" about scholarship...no word from any schools yet...awesome news!

Any updated portals? I haven't relieved a phone call or e-mail yet. Does that mean no first round scholarship?

Dec 4th is the deadline to make contact, as I understand it. I suspect that letters will be dated Dec 4 or later and that the portal will be updated after that date as well.

Good question. I was told by clarkson I didn't get an offer. Today however I got a call from "first brigade USA". Probably the army. I wasn't in the house nor did they leave a message.

I got my letter and the date to accept by was 08 Jan 16.
So keep a look out and accept it as soon as you can! Don't want to take any risks waiting around

My DS has not yet received his letter. He's expecting it any day, but like I said previously...it'll get here sooner or later.
