Leaders Encouraging Airmen Development

I received the Assignment Selection Notification via vMPF today. I have absolutely no idea what I am doing, having never PCSed on my own.

Are the suspense dates set in stone? I'm currently in a Joint Firepower Course(JFC) and might not make it back to my unit in time. The briefing on vMPF mentioned a RIP but I haven't received anything.

Ugh, frustration.

No, the dates aren't really set in stone. It is more recommendation. I didn't have orders until after a few of the suspensions where past due, and couldn't satisfy them.

Is there an AF PERSCO team in place at your location? If so they may be able to help you. Dates can be changed. Depending on the circumstances (finishing a degree program within 12 months) they can even be deferred.

Still waiting

Any LEAD candidates other than Dagger and my son still waiting on a decision? My son is young enough for Prep school.

Tired of waiting. :frown:

wondering if it is over yet?

15 May has come and gone. I am betting there are still some loose ends that Admissions needs to tidy up. Any offers made just recently will have two weeks to respond (I am guessing), although I cannot imagine anyone on the wait list needing that much time, or for than matter anyone else that has waited this long, including the LEAD guys. Theoretically, however, they won't know exactly how many they have until around 1 June, so I assume it is possible there will be one or two or a few appointments made at that time.

So anyway, I have been in the lobby and missed the last part of the opera. Did Brunhilde sing the aria yet? Is it over?

Well, I have yet to receive a rejection letter (and thanks for the previous support everyone). Knowing from ColinBlueMoon that I am supposed to be rejected, I called my counselor and asked when I will be notified (because me not having this rejection letter is seriously putting a hold on current plans I cannot carry out yet), and they said admissions has yet to determine my status.

Unless there are other LEAD lurkers (and parents) out there (skymom), I suppose it's not quite over yet.

Hang in there Dagger! sounds like you still have a chance.

Dagger, I truly believe that you and skymom's DS have a great shot. Since you haven't been notified yet, I want to believe that they want both of you, since no news is good news. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Now, off to bed, and to say more prayers for both of you!!

Still waiting.

We're still waiting here too. My son called admissions a few days ago and they let him know are still reviewing files. Dagger and my son not receiving a decline yet is good but it is so hard to have to keep waiting.

My son's ALO has called admissions to check on his status too. He's in Europe and a move will take a little more planning than stateside but he is single and the AF will "make it happen".

Not so patiently still waiting.

Hang in there!

Skymom and Dagger,

Having just received our appointment news this past Monday I totally get that the waiting is a killer, but we are all pulling for you! I'm with LEADMOM and her positive thoughts for you both :thumb:

Hang in there!

Thanks for your support. Maybe our next date to hope for an answer by is June 1st, but ASAP would be great.

I wonder how many other LEAD candidates are still being reviewed? I'd think Dagger may hear before my son due to him having to be a direct admit. My son would be happy with Prep school too. They do a great job preparing airman to be "students" again.

My son's home of record is five minutes from the Academy so his move will probably be easier than for some.

Keeping the faith.

still slots open?

My guess us that there are still 50-75 slots still open, waiting to be accepted. Every year a small percentage do not show up on I day, so not sure if they will make more than 1050 offers. I understand there are approx. 15 LEAD candidates who are too old for Prep. Hoping they get a chance for direct entry, despite rumors to the contrary.

I agree. I think it is all a game of where everyone rates as admissions works through the process and makes offers.

Thanks Skydivingkittens. Best of luck to you too. It's my DS.

Seeing the USAF Thunderbirds practicing their flyovers of the stadium today lifed my spirts. I love to see that, even before my son applied to the AFA.

Was talking to an admissions counselor yesterday and she was having a hard time hearing with all the aircraft in the air.

I'd believe it. I'm driving this bus thing for graduation, and it's my first time ever driving this thing. The birds flew down along the main street on base like 5 times right over my bus... It scared me sooo much every time the bus shook... xD (Prior enlisted coming from prep school working over summer)
