Good afternoon. Just finished up reading everyone's updates on schools and transfers, kind of glad this is over. SMP or 3 yr AD can be controlled by DS to an extent - funding must be available and he must decided where to put his energy. No more trying to see behind the CC curtain to see the wizard.
Wish all of you luck with theses transfers, it doesn't sound like anyone is expecting to trade a low end state school for a cadillac Ivy, so I would hope CC would make it happen.
I have checked DS's status for the last time. There is peace in just accepting their decision and moving on. Don't let what you cannot do change what you can do -- DS has done much better than I thought he might and is being pretty matter of fact about it. His mature handling of this makes it 10x easier for me to move on. So what, my baby didn't win the most beautiful baby contests either, but more than anything my babies all know you just don't quit anything you value, work hard, smarter and get it done. He is meant to lead, any group he's ever joined has seen it and put him in charge -- ROTC will be no different. I love Pima's "what do they call a 2LT with a scholarship or without? LT". So, he'll compete, and win, a campus based if they're available or he'll join Guard and SMP. It will be what its supposed to be. And it will be for all the other applicants who were denied or awarded scholarships too. Chase the dream, this is only the begining of your story. I'll be around to check up on everyone -- and I'll let you know when DS decides which option is right for him.
Go Bobcats!! Ohio University here he comes.
