Most Diverse Service Academy?

Service academies are still no where close to gender equality and are majority white.
Admissions stats seem to indicate that the SAs take a larger percentage of qualified female and minority applicants. If the percentages aren't representative of the US population overall it would seem that it isn't because of a bias in the admissions process.

BTW - what percentage of the US population between 18 and 24 years old is considered non-white and can meet the overall admissions standards of the SAs (ie - citizenship, non criminal record, academics, DODMERB)? My "guess" is less than 30%.

Ya if that. BTW-When I see threads like this I am mostly playing devil's advocate and not supporting one side or the another.

I think the OP wanted a sense of what each academy is like and in what ways they might differ from each other. Of course, all cadet candidates should prioritize which service they want to serve in and then get down into the nitty-gritty of what a particular campus (post or base in the case of SAs I suppose) is like. This is also something to think about when comparing attending a SA vs choosing ROTC commissioning.

I believe their goal is to have officer representation that matches the make-up of the enlisted ranks. If that is their goal, then equal gender representation is not their focus as I don't think the enlisted ranks is made up of anywhere near 50% females.

That would make more sense.

If we had liberal service academies our soldiers would refuse to fight. Thank the lord we have conservative schools.

 Yay a troll.

Oh what wisdom from a high schooler.

Rats...you beat me to it.

To nysegop, don't be to quick to lable Liberals as unwilling to fight, in fact don't be quick to place lables at all. The SA's are not the sole bastion of conservatism and Berkeley turns out some fine officers.
