Does anyone have an interview tomorrow with Chiesa? If so, is it still on? Has anyone tried to reach Menendez? Is his Newark office still open or are staffers furloughed?

Anyone hear from Senator Chiesa yet?

Just wondering if notifications have gone out. Has anyone heard the good news yet?

Did u hear by phone or letter from Chiesa? Menendez moved his deadline until 10/21 so probably be a little while to hear about interviews.

E-mail. I called my congressman today, and they have yet to schedule interviews. I called Menendez's office, but apparently his staff is out to lunch until 2:45!? So I never was able to get ahold of them...

Does anyone know if the newly elected senator Booker gets to make nominations?

While at my Chiesa interview, we were asked if we wanted our information passed to Booker. It is to my understanding that he has one available slot for a candidate to receive an appointment, so to answer your question... yes.

My blue and gold officer told me me that he and chiesa were splitting lautenbergs available slots in the academy (2). So they both get their list of ten, but only one slot from each list is available. Of course, he may have been mistaken, so I wouldn't concern yourself...

Has anyone heard from Menendez yet?

My DS has an interview for Menendez for this Saturday 11/2. They also told me they were doing interviews the following weekend.

That would be interesting because noms are charged to the office. I.E. Chiesa would now become Sen 1. and Booker is Sen. 2 (jr), but for the next 4 yrs. that 1 appointee which Chiesa's nom committee selected will be on Booker's account. Booker next yr would only have 1 nom come next yr., whereas, chiesa next yr. may have 2 slots.

MOCs can only have UP TO 5 charges at any given time. There is no reg that says that they must have 5 at all given times. They rarely are involved in the process, accept to sign off on the noms. from the committee. He could have told his own committee to submit 2 slates and not give over that 1 slate. He also could have held onto that extra 1 slate for the 2019 instead of giving that slate to Chiesa. Afterall, if his committee is going to go through the process of selecting the top 10, selecting the top 20 is not much harder.

Just my 0.01964 cents which buys absolutely nothing.

OBTW, for you as a candidate it means nothing because it still is the same amount of noms they can give, it only means something to the MOCs because it is their numbers that will be impacted. Believe it or not some MOCs have very unique perspectives/positions regarding what they want the candidate's resume should look like, or how the committee works (i.e. principal, rank or unrank), diversity, across the state (not just the bulk from one or two counties), etc.. There are even MOCs that never submit a slate.

Chisea is no longer a Senator. Likewise Lautenberg. I do not see how they will have any influence on the noms, other than Chisea's staff having done the prelim leg work for Booker.

Chiesa already hosted interviews and released his results i believe. He did it early to get his $0.02 in for the class of 2018

You won't hear anything until December-January or later. There will be more interviews in December (for college students who could not make interviews this month). Good luck.

Yeah it won't be for a while. I have my interview around Dec. 20 because I am at college in Virginia right now like NavyPops said. So I would guess late January. When I had my interview with him last year, he held the interviews in January and I think I got my results in February. The waiting does suck, but don't stress too much, you'll find out eventually.:thumb:
