Nothing yet from KS-but would like to say that you don't have to be intimidated by USAFA. I was the first time around with our oldest who graduated a few years ago; so proud! Anyway once you have been a part of this special place you will find it has the nicest people I have ever had the privledge to meet; including the cadets, teachers, and staff. They all become part of a very small family that the cadets and their families are a part of forever. We keep in touch still with our son's sponsor family and also invited his LO to the graduation and that meant so much to him; no cadet had ever invited him. When the LO came out to the Academy every year they would always get together with another cadet from KS and eat supper. Our son really enjoyed that. What I'm saying is Moms, you don't have be afraid of calling your child's counselor-if they are agreeable. We've rarely called-only on very important things; and ours said we had a valid question about his status!
General Abrams once told our Academy Ball in Kansas City that he wanted to thank the Moms! He knew that most of these kids wouldn't have made it to the Academies without them-So Moms Rock! Keep up the support-from Dad's, etc, too; your won't believe how much they need to talk to someone back home when the cold, windy, dark days come-especially after Christmas in January. The cadets have a name for it but I can't remember it. So good luck everyone-us included!!!!
