My son just received notification that he was awarded a tier one scholarship (electrical engineering) for Duke University, which was his first choice. He has been accepted to three of the other schools on his list, but we will not be notified of the Duke admissions decision until April. If he is not accepted to Duke, will he have enough time to request a transfer of his scholarship to another school?
I just got the NROTC scholarship this afternoon to VMI.
It might help to contact the unit at Duke and also let admissions know of the scholarship.
Will this help? My DS is in the same situation. He has been accepted to two of his five colleges, but his top three choices will not notify of acceptance until April 1. His scholarship has been assigned to his number one choice and this is the school he really wants to attend. He has notified both the NROTC unit Commander and his admissions counselor of the scholarship assignment, but heard nothing back from anyone.

Got the sad news late yesterday...not selected for a scholarship. Plan B now in action; at least we know early enough to enact plan B. We'll try for the 2 or 3 year scholarship option. I hope others are getting better news. Good luck to you all through this process!
