Time for this thread to start up. I wonder if it will see as much activity as in previous years.
Best wishes for all applicants.
Best wishes for all applicants.
Thanks to all of you for the great information that is supplied on this site. I am wondering about the process the board goes through and how long they convene. Is this board still in session? The S/A/L scoring is straight math except for the experience survey part of the application which I assume is scored by the board. Once they have the OML for the completed applications, what is the process they us to determine the first pass of scholarships? Based on previous years experience, we would start to see updates to the status pages next Wednesday or Thursday, does that sound right?
Seems that this board is taking a lot longer than last year for publishing to the status pages. Last years board started on 10/17 and most of the scholarship selections were notified via the status pages on the 27th and 28th. That would have been last week for this board schedule. Hopefully, we will start to see updates later this week.
The storm on the east coast could very well be the reason for any delay. Cadet Command may be waiting until they can get the results to everyone, with a few million poeple without power, it may take a while.
Nothing is ever set in stone when it comes to getting the results posted. The January Board in 2011 took over 2 months to get the results out. There are only a couple people at Cadet Command that have to go through all the updates, with budget cuts it could very well be taking them longer to process.
Waiting is the hardest part, cadets will learn this will not be the first time they have to wait longer then expected to get results. Just wait until it comes time for their OML and Branching, that seems to be delayed every year. Last year the CULP results came out over 3 weeks late. Welcome to the Army, patience is a neccessity, although understandably hard sometimes.
